Spring 2012 Household Hazardous Waste Collection
April 2, 2012 – 8:50 am
The Barry County Solid Waste Oversight Committee and the Barry-Eaton District Health Department announce the date of the spring 2012 Household Hazardous Waste Collection: Saturday May 12, 2012 at the Barry County Fairgrounds from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Along with Household Hazardous Waste, Medications, and scrap Tires this collection will include ELECTRONICS. Electronic devices, including computers, cell phones, televisions, microwaves and counter-top appliances, will be taken at no charge. WE CANNOT ACCEPT: Latex Paint (once it is dry it is not hazardous and can go to the Landfill), Propane Tanks, Commercially Generated Waste, Radioactive Material, Explosives, and Unknown Wastes. There is a $25.00 charge for items containing Freon. Wood console TV’s, Projection TV’s, and Wooden Speakers will not be accepted.
