Our Team

The primary function of the Barry County Parks and Recreation Commission is the operation of Historic Charlton Park Village, Museum & Recreation Area, McKeown Bridge Park and the Paul Henry - Thornapple Trail. Responsibilities include long-range planning, preparation of an annual budget and approval of budget expenditures.
MISSION STATEMENT - Promote Barry County as a recreational and historical destination, by supporting and expanding recreation and educational opportunities, to enhance the quality of life for all.

Barry County Parks & Recreation Commission Meetings
Parks & Recreation Commission meetings are typically held on the 4th Thursday of the month, unless otherwise noted. All meetings will be held at the Historic Charlton Park office, 2545 S. Charlton Park Rd., Hastings, MI 49058 beginning at 6:00 p.m. Meetings are open to the public.
