Overview
The Barry County Swift and Sure Sanctions Probation Program is an adult specialty court probation program for felony probationers who have demonstrated an inability or unwillingness to comply with probation conditions in the past. The Swift and Sure Sanctions Probation Program design reflects a structure to achieve strict compliance with probationary terms, thereby enhancing the success of the probation process, and ultimately reducing recidivism within the community through intensive services. These services include: increased monitoring by the probation agent and case manager; quick, immediate, predictable, and fair sanctions for non-compliance; frequent drug testing; and mental health/substance abuse treatment as needed. The Swift and Sure Sanctions Probation Program mission includes promoting and maintaining successful compliance with probation rules and expectations through immediate, consistent, predictable, and fair sanctions to at-risk probationers while reducing drug use, probation revocations, incarceration, and recidivism while maintaining community safety.
