GENERAL SUMMARY
Works under the supervision of the Director of Information Technology. Provides desktop computer support to the 250+ Barry County employees and associated offices. Responsible for the creation and maintenance of necessary government data layers. Researches and produces maps, digital applications, and reports concerning roads, land ownership, planning & zoning, surface hydrology, invasive species, and other business needs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Acts as GIS Technician. Creates county necessary data layers and hardcopy map products in support of mapping and spatial data needs for all county departments.
- Creates and maintains drain district and drain centerline maps from historic documents and makes determinations of watershed boundaries from digital terrain models.
- Creates tax parcel maps to standards promoted by International Assessor Association and
STCState Tax Commission. - Performs related work as required.
- Organizes, prioritizes and responds to requests for service in the county IT request system.
- Answers help desk calls regarding the computer system, peripherals and repairs or works with vendor to resolve hardware/software problems. Works with the users regarding problems that may require contacting the vendor or network administrator.
- Helps monitor performance of wireless, cameras, servers, antivirus, and phone system.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience
Education: Associates Degree in Geography/GIS/IT or related field.

Starting Wage: $19.48/hour FTE

- Performing basic mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and ratios, statistics including linear regression, bivariate analysis and trigonometry.
Ability to:
- Read and interpret legal description and deeds
- Manipulate files to create a single authoritative and attributed road layer and address point layer within the GIS system
- Read a survey and engineering plan
- Meet schedules and deadlines of the work
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions
- Accurately organize and maintain paper documents and electronic files
- Maintain the confidentiality of information and professional boundaries
