Overview
The Barry County Office of Community Corrections (OCC) provides community-based and jail programming to eligible adult misdemeanor and felony offenders in an effort to lower our County’s Prison Commitment Rate (PCR), improve jail utilization, and promote successful compliance with court-ordered probation.

All offenders must meet general OCC eligibility criteria in addition to specific program requirements to be considered for program enrollment. Available OCC programming is as follows:

The Cog Program
The Cog Program is a long-term, cognitive behavioral-based group treatment exclusively for OCC enrolled offenders. Treatment addresses anti-social and criminal thinking patterns that contribute to criminal behavior. Services are provided through the Barry County Community Mental Health Authority, and all referrals must participate in a screening and assessment to be determined appropriate for service.

The Drug Testing Program
The Drug Testing Program is a minimum 120-day program that provides instant 10-panel, ETG, and PBT testing to enrolled offenders. All participants are assigned a testing color and are directed to test on a random basis through our testing hotline. All participants receive a program intake, which includes a verbal and written review of program rules.

Drug Testing Hotline: (269) 945-1387
Program participants must call every day, Monday – Friday, 4:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. to determine if their color is called. The daily message ends promptly at 11:30 a.m. We will not provide daily testing/color information via office phone, however participants can visit the office in person to ask if their color was called.
