OUR MISSION

The overall mission of the Barry County Wraparound Process is to help keep high risk children and families together in the community, improve their level of functioning, and to build supports and independence in the community. Wraparound is a team planning process that focuses on children and family’s strengths and needs in all areas of their lives. The wraparound approach believes that services in the community are best and that not all families need the same types of services. Services are supported with flexible funding. The wraparound team plans for crisis and safety needs for the child, family and community. Every team sets its own outcomes so they are able to measure progress and know when things are getting better. Children re-entering the community from out-of-home placement, those at imminent risk for removal due to neglect, abuse, delinquency, and severe mental illness, or those who are in a long-term chronic situations with multiple risk factors are prioritized for services. Schools may refer students who are at risk for long term suspension or expulsion and in need of coordination of multiple services. Referrals are considered by the Community Team on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month, or by special arrangement.
