General Overview:

The juvenile section of the Barry County Trial Court – Family Division has jurisdiction of youth under the age of 17 who have committed specified juvenile violations, and children under the age of 18 who are victims of neglect or abuse. The Juvenile Court’s goal is to rehabilitate and assist young people to be productive, law abiding members of society.

In order to achieve our goal, juveniles may be placed in one of the following programs: Consent Calendar Probation, Regular Probation, Home Intensive Care Program, Home Detention, Juvenile Drug Court, Youth Service Bureau, or Wraparound in which the juvenile will receive services according to the juvenile’s needs.
