Credit for Direct Payment

Credit for direct payment is given only one time. The credit is intended to correct account balances at the beginning of a case and are not intended to circumvent paying through the Friend of the Court. Any direct payment made to a party is considered a gift and therefore not adjustable from the account without a court order.

If there has been direct payments made at the beginning of a case that occurred after the court order was entered please submit a written request for credit to the Accounting Department including the date the payment was made, the amounts, and both parties signatures.

Requests received not verified by the payee would require a letter of verification be sent from the Friend of the Court and the payees consent.
