This site has been designed to provide resources and information concerning the policies and procedures of the Family Court to existing or perpective clients of the Barry County Court System. -OVERVIEW OF THE FRIEND OF THE COURT-

The Friend of the Court is the collection, enforcement, and investigative arm of the Family Court in the area of domestic relations. The name of our agency “Friend of the Court” is confusing as the word Friend implies we are here to assist clients with all court problems. This is a misconception as our primary function is to assist the court with domestic relation cases. Our duties are defined by Federal Regulations, Michigan State Statue and Local Administrative Policies.
